Lafayette 148, the New York women's clothing label, celebrated its 30th anniversary with an intimate dinner at Tate Britain, the London gallery. The evening also launched the label's fall 2026 collection, its range for the autumn season, according to WWD.

The brand was founded in SoHo, the Manhattan neighbourhood, and has spent three decades building its New York design identity. The London evening brought together the anniversary and the new collection in one room.

Clients of Harrods, the London department store, attended as part of the event. They were the store's VIC (very important customer) clients. Harrods has stocked Lafayette 148 since the end of August last year, when the label opened a space on the first floor of the store's women's international designer room.

The guests also had a private tour of "The 90s: Art and Fashion", the exhibition at Tate Britain curated by Edward Enninful, the stylist and former editor of British Vogue. Emily Smith, creative director of Lafayette 148, led the tour.

Among the guests were the British artist Charlotte-Rose Smith, Emma-Jayne Knight, who is head of retail at Harrods, and the stylist Yana McKillop.

For a label that began in SoHo, the setting was a long way from its home street. The pairing of a 30-year milestone with a gallery exhibition on the 1990s gave the evening a retrospective feel, while the new collection pointed forward.
