"American Valor" Returns for Veterans Day With Rob Riggle as Host
Rob Riggle will host the 14th year of "American Valor: A Salute to Our Heroes," a Veterans Day special set to air on Saturday, Nov. 14, on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox stations, Variety reports.
Riggle is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. The special is tied to the American Veterans Center, whose president, Tim Holbert, is also the show's executive producer. The Center describes the programme as an Emmy-winning television spectacular.
Filming takes place on Nov. 7 in Washington, D.C. That date falls inside the group's wider veterans event, which runs Nov. 5 to 7 at the Navy Memorial and the Omni Shoreham Hotel. The event also includes the 29th Annual Veterans Conference.
The lineup is split between on-camera guests and narrators. Toni Breidinger, Patricia Heaton, Gabriel Luna, Joel McHale and Dean Norris are set to appear. Will Arnett, Kristen Bell, Bill Hader, William H. Macy, Chris Pine and Oprah Winfrey will provide narration.
Two tributes stand out on the rundown. The special marks 25 years since "Band of Brothers," the war drama about a company of U.S. paratroopers in the Second World War. It also salutes Jimmy Stewart, the actor who served as a bomber pilot in the Second World War. That segment is timed to the Nov. 6 release of the biopic "Jimmy."
The American Veterans Center also records its own work. Its interviews with World War II veterans are donated to the Library of Congress Veterans History Project, a national archive of firsthand accounts. Its hour-long program "Veterans Chronicles" tells the stories of American service members in their own words.
The group has another broadcast on the calendar. Its National Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday, May 31, 2027, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, moving down Constitution Avenue along the National Mall in Washington. It is set to air on the same four networks, ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox.
For viewers, the key dates are simple. The special is filmed on Nov. 7 and airs on Nov. 14, and the local station listings will confirm the time in each area.
