Stephanie Lebo Praises Collin Gosselin's Memoir as Kate Gosselin's Denials Continue

Stephanie Lebo, the wife of Jon Gosselin, used Instagram on October 30 to praise Collin Gosselin's new memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood. US Magazine reported the post, which showed Collin holding a copy of the book.
In the post, Lebo wrote that the memoir had stayed at No. 1 on The New York Times Best Seller list for a second week in a row. She also wrote that Collin had turned some of the darkest chapters of his life into something that will help others. Page Six and Yahoo Entertainment both quoted her telling him, "you are changing the world." Lebo and Jon Gosselin married in November 2025, which makes her Collin's stepmother.
The memoir is raising questions because of what it says about Collin's mother, Kate Gosselin. Collin alleges in the book that Kate was physically and emotionally abusive before he went to live with his father. US Magazine reported that Kate has repeatedly denied those allegations.
The family has been in public view for a long time. Jon & Kate Plus 8 aired from 2007 to 2017 and followed Jon and Kate Gosselin as they raised their eight children. Collin is one of the sextuplets featured on the show.
The New York Times describes the book as a dark tell-all by one of the sextuplets. It is listed on the paper's Hardcover Nonfiction Best Sellers list. Collin's Instagram account, @collingosselin1, calls him a "#1 NYT Bestselling Author" and says the book is out now.
Lebo's post is one of the most direct public endorsements of the book by a member of Jon Gosselin's household. The memoir's allegations about Kate Gosselin remain in dispute, and her denials stand alongside Collin's account.
