139 Arrested at London Protest Against Palestine Action Ban

Police arrested 139 people at a protest against the ban on Palestine Action outside the US embassy in Battersea, south London, The Guardian reported.
The group behind the demonstration, Defend Our Juries, estimated that around 400 people gathered for it. The same group also organised a vigil in support of Palestine Action outside the US consulate in Edinburgh.
The London protest follows a similar demonstration outside the Labour party conference in Liverpool, where more than 160 people were arrested or reported for summons, meaning they were formally notified that they must attend court at a later date.
The UK government has proscribed Palestine Action, which means it has made the group illegal. Al Jazeera has reported that more than 3,850 people have been arrested for publicly backing the group since the ban took effect.
A legal challenge to the group's designation as a terror group is due to be heard at the UK Supreme Court, the country's highest court, on 4 November.
