Guy Pearce and Sabrina Impacciatore Join Trudie Styler's The Reception

Guy Pearce and Sabrina Impacciatore have been cast in The Reception, the new film directed by Trudie Styler. Deadline reported the casting on 2 November 2026.
The film is already shooting on location in Scotland. Jeff Daniels takes the lead role. Rachael Stirling and Selena Tan have also joined the cast, according to the same report.
The story is set at a grand Scottish estate. A wedding party carries on even though the bride and groom are not there. The screenplay is by Tom Stourton and Tom Palmer.
For Styler, the film is her fourth feature-length project as a director. She is directing it herself, which keeps her in the chair at a time when the film is being shot on location rather than in a studio.
The next step for the film is its sales campaign. Beta Cinema, a sales company that sells films to distributors and broadcasters around the world, will launch sales on The Reception at the American Film Market. That market, held each year in Santa Monica, California, is a trade event where buyers look at films that are still being made or have just been completed. Deadline also reported that CAA, the Creative Artists Agency, is representing the film's domestic rights. Domestic here means the United States and Canada, the territory a distributor would need to release the film in cinemas there.
Those rights are the part of a film's sale that decides who gets to put it on screen in North America. Deals of this kind are usually made before a film is finished, which is why the market matters so much for a project still in production. Any sale that follows is yet to be announced.
For now, the news is simple. A cast has been set, a crew is working in Scotland, and the film will be pitched to buyers at the American Film Market.
