Moyes Says Grealish Has a Way Back at Everton

Everton manager David Moyes says there is a way back for Jack Grealish at the club, but he does not know when the attacker will return to the team.
Grealish missed both of Everton's recent wins over Newcastle. He was left out of the 3-1 Carabao Cup (League Cup) victory on Thursday. He was also absent from the 1-0 league win at St James' Park on Monday, where Thierno Barry scored the only goal. Everton said the Monday absence was because of a lack of fitness.
Moyes has refused to say more about the Newcastle absence. Before that, what was thought to be an unauthorised absence from training had come to light. Moyes has also confirmed that Grealish was dropped after a breach of club discipline.
The situation is a long one. Grealish is on loan at Everton from Manchester City, which means he is on a temporary move and still belongs to his parent club. He became Britain's first £100m footballer when City signed him, so every step of his career is watched closely. Last season he scored twice in 22 games for Everton before a foot injury cut his loan short. He returned on a second loan this season, made six appearances, and then fell out of favour.
The injury has been a constant worry. In January, Moyes said Grealish would probably need surgery on a foot stress fracture, a small crack in the bone, and was expected to be out for the season. In October, Moyes also talked about the competition between Grealish and Tyrique George for a place in the side.
One report says Grealish has been warned and may be on his final chance at the club. For now, Everton have not set out a timetable for his return.
Everton's next game is at home to Coventry on Friday, with kick-off at 20:00 GMT.
