Avenue Q Releases Video of Its Finale Song as West End Run Enters Final Months

Avenue Q has released a performance video of "For Now", the closing song of the puppet musical, as its West End revival enters its final months. WhatsOnStage reported the release on 3 November 2026.
The show's official Facebook page called the clip an exclusive look at the finale. It said there were two months left to catch the production at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London. The 20th-anniversary revival is booked there until 3 January 2027.
The musical has a long run in London. It first opened in the West End in 2006 at the Noel Coward Theatre. It then moved, or transferred, to the Gielgud Theatre and later to Wyndham's Theatre, before closing in 2010. The show was written by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, with a book by Jeff Whitty, and it is a Tony Award-winning musical.
Fans have brought it back for special occasions several times since. In 2024 a concert version played the Sondheim Theatre to mark the show's 18th anniversary. In November 2020, original cast members reunited for a virtual recreation of the finale, called "Only For Now". That video was directed by Jason Moore, who also directs the current West End revival. Earlier still, in 2018, past and present casts sang the song together onstage at Feinstein's/54 Below in New York.
The West End cast also performed "For Now" live at West End LIVE 2026, a public showcase of London theatre, earlier this year.
Anyone hoping to see the revival in person has until 3 January 2027. The new video gives a preview of how the show ends, without a ticket.
