The Elder Scrolls 6 Gets a Subtitle: Sentinel

The Elder Scrolls 6 now has a subtitle. Xbox and Bethesda revealed on 3 November 2026 that the game is called The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel.
The name was revealed in a special video released the same day, according to Eurogamer. The reveal trailer showed glimpses of the game first, including sand physics, meaning the way sand moves and reacts on screen. The title came after those clips.
The video also includes a quote attributed to Yazar, Moth Priest of High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell. Hammerfell is one of the regions of Tamriel, the fictional continent where the series is set.
Xbox chief executive Asha Sharma said she had played the game in August 2026, during a trip to the Bethesda offices. Bethesda is the studio making the game, and Xbox is its publisher's parent brand within Microsoft.
A report published the week before the reveal had predicted a November announcement. It also said the game would be set in the Tamriel region of Hammerfell.
The Elder Scrolls series is known for open-world role-playing games, where players explore a large map at their own pace. The sixth main entry has been in development for years, and this is the first formal name for it.
The Game Awards 2026, the industry's annual awards show, is scheduled for 10 December 2026. Showcases like it often bring new trailers and release news, though nothing about the game's launch timing has been confirmed in the reveal.
