Chanel, the Paris fashion house, supported the annual fall gala of the Dia Art Foundation in New York, and its creative director, Matthieu Blazy, co-chaired the evening. WWD reported the event, which Dia's own website lists for November 2.

A gala is a formal evening where guests attend a dinner or party to raise money for the organisation hosting it. This year's gala honoured two artists, Roni Horn and Steve McQueen. McQueen is the British artist and filmmaker, not the actor with the same name.

The Dia Art Foundation is a New York arts nonprofit that runs exhibitions and a museum site in Beacon, a town up the Hudson River from the city. The link with Chanel began in the spring. WWD reported on May 14, 2026, that Chanel would partner with Dia and support its fall gala in New York City.

That partnership became official in May. The fall gala was the first event Chanel supported under it. Dia's website also says its Dia Beacon Spring Benefit and Dia Fall Night are made possible with Chanel's support, so the house's backing now covers more than one of the foundation's fundraising evenings.

Blazy leads the creative side of Chanel, which makes clothing, handbags and beauty products. Co-chairing a gala usually means helping to bring in guests and donors for the cause. The evening placed the fashion house in the same room as the artists it honoured and the people who support their work.

Organisations that host galas often publish totals afterwards, so any figure would come from the foundation itself.
