Gucci Opens Holiday Season With Mariah Carey Party on Fifth Avenue

Gucci kicked off its holiday season on Monday night with a festive cocktail party inside its Fifth Avenue flagship in New York, with Mariah Carey as the star of the evening.
According to WWD, guests were entertained by an a cappella choir, a group that sings without instruments, which serenaded Carey during the event. She wore a black, long-sleeve turtleneck dress. She sat on a leather couch beside a fireplace that did not work, and handed out Gucci-branded chocolate boxes to attendees.
Guests left with chocolate and to-go cups of hot apple cider, carrying them out onto the street. Carey also left the party in the same fur coat she wears in Gucci's new holiday campaign.
The campaign, called Gift Holiday, was released early on Monday morning. The filmmaker Harmony Korine directed it. It features Carey and pieces from the Butterfly collection, which Gucci describes on its website as a new special collection. One of the pieces is a shimmering nude viscose jersey dress with an asymmetric neckline. Viscose is a soft fabric made from wood pulp, and jersey is a stretchy knit.
Page Six reported that the 2026 holiday campaign is set to "All I Want for Christmas Is You," the song Carey first released in 1994 and that has returned to holiday playlists every year since.
The evening marked the start of the holiday selling period for Gucci, a part of the Kering group, the French luxury company. The party took place on the same Fifth Avenue block where the brand runs its flagship store, the largest type of shop a label operates in one city.
For shoppers, the practical question is simple: the campaign pieces are on sale through Gucci's own channels, and the brand has not said how many units it has produced.
