Usher Previews Remix of Drake and Loe Shimmy's "I'm Spent"

Usher previewed a remix of "I'm Spent," the song by Drake and Loe Shimmy, during an Instagram Live studio session on Monday night, 2 November. The preview included a new lyric, "Got so many hits I damn near almost forget." XXL reported the Instagram Live preview, and Billboard carried the details.
The remix appears to be titled "U Spent," a play on the original song's name. Drake and Usher have not yet made an official joint release. They came close once before. In 2014, Drake brought Usher out at OVO Fest, a festival Drake hosts, and said a collaboration was in the works. That song, called "Slow Motion," never appeared on either artist's album and leaked online in 2020.
"I'm Spent" was one of the standout tracks on Drake's album HABIBTI, released in May. The song reached No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100, the weekly US singles chart that ranks songs by sales, radio airplay and streaming. It was also Loe Shimmy's first top 40 hit, meaning it landed in the chart's top 40 positions.
Usher is currently on the road. He is touring with Chris Brown on the R&B Tour, which resumes on Thursday, 5 November, with the first of five shows in Atlanta. His most recent album, COMING HOME, arrived ahead of his Super Bowl Halftime Show performance in February 2024. It earned a Grammy nomination for best R&B album and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the US album chart that counts sales, streams and track sales together.
Awards eligibility is also in the background of Drake's recent news. In October, iHeartRadio's 93.7 The Beat Houston reported that Drake had reportedly opted out of submitting three albums for Grammy consideration.
For fans following the two artists, the preview is the clearest look yet at a Drake and Usher track. For now, the remix exists as a preview clip and a title, and the Atlanta dates on the R&B Tour are the next confirmed stops on Usher's calendar.
