Anderson .Paak and Cordae Reach No. 1 on Billboard's Top Rap Albums

Anderson .Paak and Cordae's joint album, Heavy Is the Crown, has reached No. 1 on Billboard's Top Rap Albums chart, Billboard reported on 3 November 2026.
The album earned 30,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the tracking week of 23 to 29 October, according to Luminate, the company that compiles the sales and streaming data behind Billboard's charts. Equivalent album units are a single figure that adds album sales to streams converted into album-equivalents. Of the 30,000, 19,000 came from album sales and 11,000 came from streaming.
The album also opened at No. 2 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and at No. 11 on the Billboard 200, the chart of the week's most popular albums across all genres.
For both artists, this is their first No. 1 on Top Rap Albums. Anderson .Paak had reached the chart before, with Yes Lawd! as NxWorries peaking at No. 3 in November 2016, and Oxnard peaking at No. 5 in December 2018. Cordae's earlier high points were The Lost Boy, which reached No. 6 in August 2019, and From a Birds Eye View, which reached No. 4 in January 2022.
The album's lead single and most-streamed track that week was "Airbender". It debuted at No. 21 on the Hot Rap Songs chart, and it earned 2.4 million official U.S. on-demand streams, according to Billboard. That debut is Anderson .Paak's first entry on Hot Rap Songs and Cordae's fourth.
Top Rap Albums is Billboard's genre chart for rap records, so it ranks albums against other releases in the same category. A No. 1 there means the album led rap albums that week, not that it led the whole market. That distinction is the one the Billboard 200 figure shows: the same album sat at No. 11 on the main listing.
The album's position on the Billboard 200 is the figure to watch in the weeks ahead, as the tracking weeks roll forward. For now, the chart shows a joint project from two artists who had each reached the rap chart before, now sitting at the top of it together.
