Tami Roman is coming back to Lifetime as both the star and an executive producer of Double Double Trouble 2, a sequel to one of the network's biggest hits this year, Deadline reported.

Roman will reprise her role as identical twins Drea and Ali. She plays both sisters, so the film depends on her moving between two characters who look the same but are not. Roger Cross joins her as co-star. He will play Randy, a long-lost twin brother.

The original film, Double Double Trouble, was named Lifetime's No. 1 highest-rated original movie of 2026, according to the same report. It premiered on February 21. In Live+Same Day viewing, which counts people who watched when it aired along with those who recorded it and watched that day, it reached 625,000 adults aged 25 and over.

Behind the camera, Navid Soofi produces for Novus Pictures, in association with Studio TF1 America. James Bamford directs from a script by Sa'Rah L. Jones. The executive producers are Timothy O. Johnson, Meghan Hooper White, Abbey Sibucao-MacDonald, Jill Ramsey and Roman herself. An executive producer is usually a senior figure who helps arrange the money and the business side of a project, rather than running the day-to-day filming.

Roman is taking on a double role in a second sense. She is acting in the film and also helping steer it, which is a common path for performers who have a strong connection to a project. Her name now sits on both the cast list and the producer credits.

The sequel is slated to premiere in 2027. Lifetime has built a long run of movies around mystery, family secrets and twists, and a sequel signals that the network sees room to return to this story. For viewers who enjoyed the first film, the news gives them something to look forward to, even if the wait runs well into next year.
