Easy Tiger Acquires TV Rights to Dervla McTiernan's Three Reasons For Revenge

Easy Tiger has acquired the television rights to Three Reasons For Revenge, the novel by Dervla McTiernan, and has attached a writer to adapt it. Deadline reported the deal on 4 November 2026.
TV rights are the permission to turn a book into a television series. Buying them is usually the first step, and a long one, before anything reaches a screen.
Shaun Grant is the writer attached to the screenplay for the series. "Attached" is trade shorthand for a writer named to a project from the start, before the show has a buyer.
The novel had already done well at home. Deadline reported that it hit the top of Australia's bestseller charts after its publication earlier in 2026. Bestseller charts rank the books people buy most often in a given week.
The rights went through a contest. Deadline described the sale as a heated auction, meaning more than one interested party bid for the project before Easy Tiger won it. The deal was negotiated by Dan Conaway and Tom Ishizuka of the literary agency Writers House.
No broadcaster or streamer is attached yet. Easy Tiger will now take the project to market, which means pitching the series to TV networks and streaming services in the hope that one will order it. Until that happens, the show has no home and no air date.
For readers of the book, the next question is simple: who will pick it up? A broadcaster or streamer that commits to the series, known as a commission, is the step that turns a book deal into a programme with a schedule. Many projects at this stage never get that far, and this one is still waiting for its first buyer.
