Kartik Aaryan Takes the Lead, and the Producer's Chair, on Ladaku

Kartik Aaryan will star in a new film called Ladaku, and he will also produce it, his first time in that role. Deadline reported the project on 4 November 2026.
The film will be made through his own company, Dopamine Studios. Kabir Khan is directing. Birla Studios is leading production, and the studio is led by Ananya Birla. Kabir Khan Entertainment is also attached to produce.
Aaryan and Khan have worked together before. Their earlier film was Chandu Champion, a story about Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympics gold medallist. Aaryan played the lead in that film and won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in 2024.
Aaryan is best known to cinema audiences for his comedy-thriller hits. Deadline names Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 as his highest-grossing films. Both are part of a long-running franchise, and both are the kind of commercial titles studios watch closely when they plan their next projects.
The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 18 June 2027. That is the date to mark for anyone hoping to see it on a big screen, since no other release dates for Ladaku have been announced.
For Aaryan, the producer credit is the new part of the story. Putting his name on the financing side as well as the screen gives him a say in how the film is made and sold, a role that actors in India have taken on more often in recent years. For Khan, the project is another chance to work with a lead actor he has already directed in a true-life sports film.
Filming dates, a cast beyond the leads, and a budget have not been announced, so those details will have to wait for later news.
