NPR's Steve Inskeep spoke with political consultant Mike Madrid about Latino voters on November 4, 2026. The conversation aired on Morning Edition, and NPR has posted it on its website as a short interview of a little under five minutes.

The interview comes as new polling offers a closer look at how Hispanic voters cast their ballots in the 2026 midterm elections. Only about one-third of Hispanic voters backed the Republican in their local U.S. House race, according to that survey.

The same polling found that about 7 in 10 Hispanic voters said President Trump's policies had worsened U.S. economic conditions.

According to the AP Voter Poll, a survey by The Associated Press, young voters and Hispanic voters moved away from Republican candidates in the 2026 midterms.

Nationally, Democrats won control of Congress in the 2026 midterm elections, according to NBC News.
