Thaddea Graham will receive the Wilde Card Award at the 21st annual Oscar Wilde Awards, The Hollywood Reporter reported on November 4. The ceremony is set for March 11 at the Ebell in Los Angeles.

The 29-year-old actor is best known to many viewers for Bad Sisters, the Apple TV+ thriller in which she played detective Una Houlihan in its second season in 2024. Her TV work also includes the final season of Sex Education in 2023, where she played therapist O, and Margo's Got Money Troubles, where she was the roommate of Elle Fanning's character. Earlier, in 2021, she played the leader of Sherlock Holmes' band of street urchins on Netflix's The Irregulars.

Her own story starts far from those sets. Graham was found as a baby in Changsha, China. She was adopted at 13 months old and brought to County Down, in Northern Ireland, where she grew up.

The Oscar Wilde Awards are organised by the US-Ireland Alliance, and they celebrate Irish and Irish American talent working in Hollywood. Previous Wilde Card Award honorees include Saoirse Ronan, Barry Keoghan, Sarah Bolger and Eve Hewson. Jack Reynor has also been announced as an honoree this year.

The evening will include a performance from Shobsy, the Irish synth-pop singer. Last year's ceremony honoured Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, John C. Reilly and Éanna Hardwicke, according to the US-Ireland Alliance. Graham was also on the green carpet at that event.

For viewers, the news is simple. An actor they may have followed through a few seasons of crime drama and teen comedy will be honoured in Los Angeles next March, and the awards will spotlight a wider group of Irish and Irish American names in the same room.
