Bill Nighy, Hayley Atwell and Maisie Williams have joined the English-language voice cast of The Last Dino, an animated family film, Variety reported on 4 November 2026.

The film is a computer-generated (CG) animation, which means its characters are built and moved on a computer rather than drawn by hand. Federico Milella directs. Ben Smith wrote the script. Milella previously directed The Fairy Princess & the Unicorn, according to the sales company's listing for the new title.

The Luxembourg-based animation studio Fabrique d'Images is producing. Freaks Factory, Terrible Lizard Productions and Broadvision Perspectives India are co-producers, meaning they share in making the film and its costs. Film Fund Luxembourg and Wallimage, two public funding bodies, support production. Fabrique d'Images has made films before, including My Fairy Troublemaker and Stitch Head. Heather Fenoughty is listed as the animation director, and the film's runtime is listed as 85 minutes.

The picture will make its market premiere at the American Film Market, a trade event held each year where film sellers and buyers meet to strike deals. Global Constellation, a Vuelta company, handles international sales. Sales agents act as go-betweens who take a film to foreign distributors, and buyers in those markets decide which titles reach their own cinemas and screens.

The film is planned for international theatrical release in 2027. In the U.K. and Ireland it will arrive as a Sky Original, which means it will be made for and shown on Sky's own platforms. No U.S. release has been announced.

For a family animation still in production, a casting announcement made ahead of a sales market gives buyers their first public look at the title. The three names are likely to draw attention from parents and younger viewers, and from the buyers who will be deciding where the film plays. Further casting and release details have yet to be announced.
