Pokémon Pokopia's Second Expansion Pass Drop, Dazzling Decorations, Launches December 9
Pokémon Pokopia's next paid expansion is called Dazzling Decorations, and it launches on December 9, 2026. The second part of the game's Expansion Pass is focused on style. It lets players dress up themselves and the Pokémon they have befriended in new items and accessories.
Expansion packs, also called DLC (downloadable content, extra material bought and added to a game after its release), are sold separately from the base game. Dazzling Decorations is paid DLC. It will also add new towns to explore, along with new Pokémon, items and accessories. Pokémon has shown one of the additions already. In an October post on its official Facebook page, the company said players can dress up Ditto in accessories as part of the Expansion Pass Part 2.
The same day, a free update, version 3.0.0, arrives for all players. Players do not need to buy the expansion to get it, according to Video Games Chronicle, which first reported the December date.
The Expansion Pass is a bundle of three content drops. The first, Bubbly Basin, launched in August and added fifty new Pokémon to the game. Nintendo's Australian site described the pass as a set of paid updates that add new areas over time. A third expansion is scheduled for 2027 and will add new areas to the game.
The Expansion Pass is sold through Nintendo's eShop, the digital store for Nintendo systems. A package version that bundles the pass with the base game is also arriving at selected retailers, with a listing for October 29. Pokémon Pokopia is a Nintendo Switch 2 game, and the expansion is for that system.
The game has been a strong seller. Video Games Chronicle reported that Pokémon Pokopia sold five million copies in five months. As of August, that was 21% of Nintendo Switch 2 owners. The same report ranks it as the second most popular Switch 2 title, behind Mario Kart World.
For players, the practical news is the date and the price of the new content. The December 9 launch gives the Expansion Pass a clear schedule, with the next area arriving in 2027. Players who want the cosmetics will need the paid DLC, while the 3.0.0 update is free for everyone.
