Red Gets a Family, and a Second Trailer, in The Angry Birds Movie 3

Jason Sudeikis is back as Red, the short-tempered bird, and this time he has a family to look after. A second official trailer for The Angry Birds Movie 3 is now out, and IGN has published it.
The film follows Red through the challenges of fatherhood. According to Rovio, which published the first trailer on its website on June 29, 2026, Red is the father of three kids. In the story, he sets out to save his island from a group of mysterious green pigs.
The voice cast is large. Rachel Bloom plays Silver, Red's partner. Walker Scobell voices Glider, Emma Myers is June, and Psalm West is Olly. James Austin Johnson plays Fuzzy, the family pet. Josh Gad returns as Chuck and Danny McBride as Bomb, and the ensemble also includes Marcello Hernandez, Tim Robinson, Lily James, Keke Palmer, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, MrBeast, Salish Matter and Sam Richardson. Hollywood Reporter reported the cast list.
John Rice directed the film from a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman. The series is based on video games from Rovio Entertainment, which is a subsidiary of Sega.
The release date is set. Paramount Pictures will open the film in theatres on December 23, 2026, and the date appears on the Paramount Pictures website. The studio's listing confirms the holiday slot, which is a busy stretch for family films in the United States.
The change of studio is the most notable thing on the calendar. Sony Pictures released the first two Angry Birds films, and together they took more than $500 million at the global box office, according to Hollywood Reporter. This third instalment is the first to arrive under Paramount's banner, so the same characters now sit on a different studio's release plan.
For fans, the trailer offers the clearest look yet at the family side of the story. Red has a partner, three children, a pet and a pig problem to solve. The film opens in just under two months, so a third trailer or further marketing could follow before then.
