Grown Ups 3: Netflix Announces Full Cast as Production Begins in New Jersey

Netflix announced the third Grown Ups film on Aug. 6, 2026, with the original five friends back in the frame and cameras already rolling in New Jersey (Variety).
Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider reprise their lead roles from the first two instalments. They are joined again by Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello and Salma Hayek Pinault — the partners who rounded out the original ensemble when the franchise launched in 2010. Netflix marked the announcement with a cast photo and a shooting slate, confirming that production is underway.
The returning cast reaches deeper into Sandler's comedy orbit. Happy Madison regulars — the company Sandler founded to produce his own films — include Jackie Sandler, Shaquille O'Neal, Colin Quinn, Tim Meadows, Cheri Oteri, Ellen Cleghorne and Nick Swardson, all listed among the returning players (Variety).
New faces join the ensemble as well. Julie Bowen, Deon Cole, Bailee Madison, Jake Goldberg, Alexys Nycole Sanchez, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Ada-Nicole Sanger, Morgan Gingerich, Kaleo Elam, Nadji Jeter, David Mattle and Kamil McFadden round out the call sheet. Several of those names — Sadie and Sunny Sandler, Goldberg, Sanchez and Sanger — played the children of the original characters in the earlier films, now returning for a third go-round.
Sandler is writing the script with Tim Herlihy, his long-time collaborator on projects from Happy Gilmore to The Wedding Singer. Kyle Newacheck, co-creator of the television series Workaholics, is set to direct.
Netflix first flagged Grown Ups 3 at its Upfront presentation in May 2026, the annual event where the company sells advertising against its upcoming slate. The film appeared on a list of new titles alongside A Matter of Time (Netflix). At that point, Netflix's editorial site had confirmed the project but left the release date open (Netflix Tudum). No release date has been announced.
For Sandler, the franchise is one of his most reliably commercial properties. The first Grown Ups grossed $272 million worldwide against a budget reported at $70 million; the 2013 sequel, Grown Ups 2, earned $247 million worldwide. Both films drew mixed critical notices but connected with audiences, a pattern that has defined much of Sandler's career across theatrical releases and, more recently, his prolific output for Netflix, where he signed a multi-film deal beginning in 2014 and renewed it in 2020.
The Grown Ups films sit squarely in Sandler's wheelhouse: ensemble comedy, childhood-friendship nostalgia, and a cast drawn heavily from his own creative circle. The third instalment, built from the same ingredients, now moves from announcement into production with its full cast locked.
