Daisy Ridley, Sosie Bacon and Simon Rex Set for Horror Film 'Get Rid of It'

Daisy Ridley, Sosie Bacon and Simon Rex are set to star in a horror film called Get Rid of It, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story follows two sisters on a cross-country road trip. They are fighting for survival when what is growing inside Harper may not be human. Ridley plays Harper, who discovers she is pregnant after a one-night stand with a drifter named Miller. Rex plays Miller. Bacon plays Jessie, Harper's sister.
Ry Russo-Young will direct the film from a script by Gemma Holdway. Russo-Young directed the sci-fi teen thriller Before I Fall, starring Zoey Deutch, and the coming-of-age drama The Sun Is Also a Star, starring Charles Melton. Her directing credits also include episodes of the Apple TV+ series Shrinking, which stars Harrison Ford and Jason Segel, according to Variety.
Production is scheduled to begin at the start of the first quarter of 2027. David Lancaster is producing. Variety notes that Lancaster received a Best Picture Oscar nomination for Whiplash.
The film is being pitched to buyers before it is shot. Upgrade, CAA Media Finance and Range Select handle sales and will present the project at the fall market, the American Film Market (AFM). At these events, sales agents show unfinished projects to distributors, who decide whether to buy the rights to show them in cinemas or on streaming services in their territory. Sales deals of this kind often decide which films reach audiences years after they are first announced.
Ridley's schedule is also filling up. Variety reports that she will appear in Ti West's upcoming film Ebenezer, opposite Johnny Depp.
For now, the news is a cast, a director and a start date. The next public step on the calendar is the fall market, where buyers will hear the pitch.
