Ukrainian drone strikes killed three people in Russia's Belgorod region on November 4, and wounded four others, according to The Moscow Times and Izvestia. Belgorod is a Russian region that borders Ukraine.

The same day brought a series of strikes on energy systems on both sides of the front. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia's overnight attacks had damaged power generation facilities and substations in nine regions of Ukraine, leaving emergency outages. Russia's Defence Ministry confirmed it had hit two power stations in the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions. According to Al Jazeera, Russian attacks on critical infrastructure caused hours-long power and water outages across Kyiv and the surrounding regions.

Russia's Ministry of Energy said Ukrainian strikes had hit energy infrastructure in Crimea overnight, and that temporary outage schedules were in force there. Crimea is a peninsula on the Black Sea that Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2014, a status Ukraine and most of the international community do not recognise. Separately, Russia's Defence Ministry said it had downed 709 Ukrainian drones across 14 regions, Crimea, and the Black and Azov seas.

In the Republic of Adygea, in southern Russia, regional head Murat Kumpilov said a Ukrainian drone attack had started a fire at an Ozon distribution facility in Adygeysk. Ozon, an online retailer, said all workers had been evacuated from the site and that no one was hurt. The company said damaged goods had been removed from listings and deliveries rerouted.

Away from the battlefield, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the Kremlin hopes U.S. President Donald Trump will continue his peacemaking efforts after the United States congressional midterm elections. Separately, Zelenskyy awarded U.S. First Lady Melania Trump the Order of Princess Olga, a Ukrainian state honour, for humanitarian aid and support for children in Ukraine, according to a presidential decree.
