Renee Spearman's "You Chose Me" Reaches No. 1 on Billboard's Gospel Airplay Chart

Renee Spearman's "You Chose Me," featuring Montell Jordan and Kim Burrell, has climbed to No. 1 on Billboard's Gospel Airplay chart, dated Nov. 7. The song rose from No. 4 to the top spot, according to Billboard Charts on X.
Gospel Airplay ranks songs by how often radio stations that play gospel music broadcast them. Reaching No. 1 means a song received the most airplay on that list in the tracking week. Billboard's chart coverage confirmed the result on Nov. 4.
For Spearman, it is her second No. 1 on the chart. For Burrell, it is her third. The two previously topped Gospel Airplay in 2023-24 with "Tap Into It (The Source)," which was the first No. 1 on the chart for both of them.
For Jordan, "You Chose Me" is his first Gospel Airplay No. 1. He is best known to many listeners for "This Is How We Do It," which spent seven weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, the main singles chart in the United States. In 2010 he moved from secular music into ministry, becoming a worship leader at Victory World Church in Norcross, Georgia.
Spearman and Jordan co-wrote the song. Jason White and Asaph Ward co-produced it.
The chart counts radio play rather than sales, so the new position reflects what gospel stations played during the week the chart tracked. It is one of several measures the industry uses to judge a song's reach, alongside streams and sales.
