Scorpions Biopic 'Wind of Change' Sets Its Cinema Dates

The German rock band Scorpions now has its film, and it has dates. Wind of Change, a biopic (a film based on a real person's or group's life), opens in German cinemas on 28 January 2027, according to Blabbermouth, which reported the date in October.
The January German release is handled by Warner Bros. Germany, the local arm of the studio. A distributor is the company that books a film into cinemas and runs its launch. Deadline reports that the German opening comes before the film's United States debut. In North America, the film will be released in theatres by Roadside Attractions in March 2027.
The story follows the band from its beginnings in 1965 to its rise to international fame. Deadline reports that the Scorpions' 1991 single "Wind of Change" sold 14 million copies worldwide, and that the group has sold more than 110 million albums around the globe.
The cast is led by Alexander Dreymon, who plays guitarist Rudolf Schenker. Ludwig Trepte plays singer Klaus Meine, and Ed Speleers plays guitarist Matthias Jabs. Luke Brandon Field plays drummer Herman Rarebell. Dominic West plays Doc McGhee, the band's music manager, and David Kross plays Andrej.
Alex Ranarivelo directs from a screenplay by Mark Andrews. The film is produced by Ali Afshar, Christina Moore and Daniel Aspromonte for Fox Entertainment Studios. Afshar's company, ESX Entertainment, is the production partner, and Warner Bros. is associated with the project.
For fans, the calendar is the main news. German audiences get the film first, in January, and North American cinemas follow in March. Anyone waiting for the band's story on a big screen now has a season to plan around.
