Inter Milan beat Feyenoord 3-0 away at De Kuip in Rotterdam on Tuesday, their second Champions League win of the season. It came three days after they lost 3-1 to AC Milan in the Milan derby, so the response was quick.

The Champions League is Europe's biggest club competition. This match was the fourth round of its league phase, the opening stage in which each team plays eight matches against different opponents. Two wins from four games is a solid start for Inter, and back-to-back victories in the competition are a useful boost after a painful weekend in Milan.

The standout on the night was England full-back Djed Spence, who was named Player of the Match. Playing on the right, he was a constant threat, using his pace, energy and attacking runs to help create chances. Inter's official website describes him as a regular danger in that area, and UEFA confirmed the individual award for his display.

Spence, who is still settling in at the club, said the team needs to keep the fire burning. He told Inter's website he feels at home in the squad and wants the side to keep up that level.

Head coach Cristian Chivu said the performance in the 3-0 win gives the team a lot of confidence. Defender Yann Bisseck called the victory the right response to the derby defeat, a phrase that captures how quickly the mood in the squad has turned.

There is little time to dwell on it. Inter were already back in training, preparing for their next match against Como. In a season where every point in Europe matters, a clean sheet away from home is a result that will not be ignored.

For Inter's supporters, the appeal of a night like this is simple. A team that lost on Saturday travelled to the Dutch port and came home with three goals and a clean sheet. For a club that has spent recent weeks being measured against its city rivals, that matters.
