Warrington Wolves have extended the contracts of two of their props, James Harrison and Luke Thomas. The club announced the deals on 5 November 2026.

Props are the big, heavy forwards who play in the front row. In rugby league they carry the ball into contact and make the tackles that wear opponents down, often in the early stages of a set of six tackles.

Harrison is 30 and has spent the last five seasons at Halliwell Jones Stadium, the Wolves' home ground. He has played 88 Super League games for the club. He started in the Super League Grand Final, the season's championship decider, when Warrington lost to Wakefield Trinity. His new deal covers the 2027 campaign and takes him into a sixth season with the Wolves.

Thomas, a Wales prop, is 24 and came through the club's academy, its youth system. He played 17 league games for Warrington in 2026. He has signed a contract extension covering the next two seasons, and his deal now runs until the end of the 2028 season.

The announcements come two days after head coach Sam Burgess signed a new two-year deal to stay with the club. Burgess's decision was the first of a run of contract news that has kept the core of the squad in place.

For supporters, the message is simple. Two front-row players who know the club well will be in the squad for the next few seasons, and the coach will be too. Warrington's next step is to turn that stability into a stronger season after the disappointment of the Grand Final.
