Justin Timberlake Names "What Goes Around.../...Comes Around" His Best Song

Justin Timberlake has named "What Goes Around.../...Comes Around" as the best song of his career, in an interview with Complex that Billboard reported on 6 November 2026.
The track is on his album FutureSex/LoveSounds. Timberlake told Complex it was the first song he wrote for that album. He said he wrote it in "damn near 20 minutes," a quick pace for a song he now ranks at the top of his work.
The song is not based on his own life. Timberlake said it tells a friend's personal story rather than his.
"What Goes Around.../...Comes Around" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the weekly chart that ranks the most popular songs in the United States, in March 2007.
Timberlake also ranked his favourites. In his personal top five, he placed "What Goes Around" above "Mirrors," "My Love," "SexyBack" and "Cry Me a River."
The comments are personal opinion rather than a release, tour or business announcement. For listeners, they offer a look at how the artist himself judges one of his most successful songs, and a reminder that a track's chart run and the artist's own view of it do not always line up.
