Colman Domingo says he went to high school with Will Smith, and the two were never friends. He made the connection on the YouTube show Friends Keep Secrets, alongside Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco.

According to Billboard, Domingo said the two shared gym class and science class. He drew a clear picture of their roles at school. Smith, he said, was the cool kid and the most popular kid. Domingo described himself as "The Nerd."

Both men attended Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, according to People. Entertainment Weekly placed their time at the school in the 1980s.

Domingo also recalled Smith's early days as a local rapper. He said Smith and Jazzy Jeff played shows at The Wynne Ballroom in Philadelphia at that time.

Their most recent encounter, Domingo said, came after Smith had become successful. Domingo was working as a waiter at El Torito restaurant in Philadelphia. Smith recognised him there, and the two hugged.

Domingo said the restaurant visit was the last time they crossed paths. He has never run into Smith during their careers in Hollywood, he said.

The stories are small and specific, the kind that come up when old classmates meet again.
