A 90-year-old woman who was shot during the Bondi Beach terror attack has died in hospital, almost 12 months after the attack, The Guardian reported. ABC News identified her as Eva Geller.

The attack took place on 14 December 2025, when Naveed Akram, 24, and his father, Sajid Akram, 50, opened fire at a Hanukkah festival on Bondi beach in New South Wales, Australia. Fifteen people were killed and 40 were injured. Police shot Sajid Akram dead at the scene.

A senior Jewish community source said on Friday that Geller had been in and out of hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the attack. She had recently gone back to hospital after developing an infection, and she died after suffering a stroke. Her family has asked for privacy, and her funeral was scheduled for Monday.

Naveed Akram has been charged with 78 offences, including 15 counts of murder. He has also been charged with one count of committing a terrorist act, which investigators allege may have been inspired by Isis, the militant group also known as Islamic State. He remains before the courts. He has previously appeared via video link at the Downing Centre Local Court in Sydney.

Several of the victims have been named publicly. Ten-year-old Matilda was the youngest person killed in the attack. Marika Pogany, 82, was also identified as a victim. Boris and Sofia Gurman, a couple who tackled a gunman, died, and Reuters reported that Reuven Morrison also died trying to stop the attackers.

In the aftermath, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese promised a crackdown on hate speech. Separately, NSW Police Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man over alleged fraudulent claims connected to the attack, according to NSW Police.
