Reece Shearsmith and Jessica Hynes Complete White Rabbit Red Rabbit Line-Up
Reece Shearsmith and Jessica Hynes have completed the line-up for the 15th anniversary run of White Rabbit Red Rabbit at the Duchess Theatre in London, according to WhatsOnStage.
The show works differently from most plays. A different performer takes the stage each night. Each one opens a sealed envelope holding a script they have never seen, then performs it with no rehearsal and no director. The audience and the performer find out what the words are at the same time.
Shearsmith is scheduled to perform on 14 December. Hynes is scheduled for 30 November. Olivia Cooke is scheduled for 23 November. The run plays on Mondays through 14 December.
Earlier performers in the run at the Duchess have included Riz Ahmed, Nish Kumar, John Bradley and Joe Lycett, WhatsOnStage reports.
The play is written by Nassim Soleimanpour. It was first performed in 2011, and it has since been staged more than 4,000 times and translated into more than 25 languages. The anniversary run marks 15 years since that first performance.
For anyone new to the show, the format is the whole idea. Nobody on stage knows what is coming, including the person reading it. Each performer brings their own voice and their own choices to a text they meet for the first time, which means no two nights are quite the same.
