South Festival in Cádiz Adds an Investment Forum for 2027

The South International Series Festival in Cádiz, Spain, is launching a money-focused event of its own. It is called South Investors Week, and it will run from April 30 to May 5, 2027, during the festival's fifth edition.
The announcement came from Womack Group, the company that produces the festival. Variety reports that the forum is being organised with Mira Anta, an audiovisual investment fund. An investment fund pools money from backers and puts it into films and series.
Mira Anta is promoted by Mira Entertainment Capital and managed by Anta Asset Management. Anta is part of Corporación Financiera Azuaga, a Spanish financial group. The fund's first vehicle, Mira Anta Media Capital Fund I, was registered in June with Spain's CNMV, the national financial markets regulator. It has a fundraising target of €80 million, or about $90.1 million.
The change of season is one of the bigger shifts. The festival's fourth edition ran from October 30 to November 4 this year. In 2027 it moves to spring, so the festival and the new forum will share a calendar slot in April and May.
South Investors Week will sit inside the professional programme of South 2027. Señal News reports that the forum will have its own dedicated agenda of activities. Details of those sessions have not yet been published.
Why does this matter beyond Cádiz? Series festivals bring together the people who make television drama and the people who pay for it. A forum with investors in the room gives producers a direct route to money, and gives funds a place to meet the projects they might back. The festival's own description of its work centres on that mix of creative and financial talks.
For anyone who watches series, the practical effect is slower to see. Money raised in a fund can take years to turn into finished shows. What the announcement does establish is a date, a partner and a fundraising goal. The next public markers will be the forum's programme and the fund's progress toward its €80 million target.
