The anonymous Montreal act Angine de Poitrine briefly performed as a three-piece, Pitchfork reported on Friday, 6 November. A third performer, dressed in the same polka-dot style as the band, joined the duo Khn and Klek on stage to play triangle on a new song.

The group is a math-rock art project, according to Stereogum. Math rock is a style of guitar-led music known for unusual rhythms and sharp, shifting patterns. The members perform under the names Khn and Klek and keep their identities hidden behind the matching outfits.

Whether the third member will stay is not yet known. The band's publicist told Pitchfork that the group is unsure whether the newcomer will join permanently.

At the time of the Pitchfork report, Angine de Poitrine were finishing a run of live dates across North America. The band's touring has been busy this year. In August, Straight reported that both nights at The Pearl had sold out, and that a third date had been added at the Commodore.

Further dates are on the calendar. BrooklynVegan reported in May that the group had added a third show at Brooklyn Steel, on 18 November, to go with shows on 16 and 17 November. Tickets for all three nights went on sale on Friday, 22 May.

For anyone who has not seen the band, the appeal of the setup is simple. Two performers and a mystery member, all in polka dots, playing intricate music with no names on the marquee. The triangle moment is the first public sign that the lineup might change, but the band has not said whether it will.
