Bradley Cooper Stars as Duke in New G.I. Joe Movie, Set for October 2028

Bradley Cooper is starring as Duke in Paramount's new G.I. Joe movie, which is scheduled for release on Oct. 20, 2028, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
The film is untitled for now. Danny McBride is directing it and writing the script with Jeff Fradley and John Carcieri. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are producing, along with Zev Foreman, for Hasbro Entertainment, the company behind the G.I. Joe toy line that the franchise grew out of.
The last G.I. Joe film was Snake Eyes, released in 2021. The new movie is described as a reimagining of the franchise, which means a fresh take on the characters rather than a direct continuation of the earlier films.
Paramount has also moved another of its horror titles. Its Paranormal Activity reboot now opens on Oct. 22, 2027, after previously being set for May 21, 2027. That is about five months later in the calendar.
The reboot has a new cast and crew too. Chase Yi, Sonia Mena and Maya Da Costa star, Ian Tuason is directing, and James Wan and Jason Blum are producing.
The original series has a strong box-office record. The Paranormal Activity franchise has grossed more than $900 million worldwide, meaning ticket sales in every market combined, according to the same report. The first film alone took in $194 million worldwide.
Both releases now sit in the final weeks of October, one year apart. Film studios often choose these autumn dates for horror, and the Paranormal Activity move gives the reboot a slot about five months after its original date. The studio has not announced further changes to either calendar date so far.
Paramount's G.I. Joe film, with Cooper as its lead, is the next big title in the franchise's history. For now, fans will wait nearly two years to see it on screen.
