Manchester United host Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday, and they go into it without a Premier League win since beating Ipswich in August. The Premier League is England's top men's division, where the 20 clubs play each other home and away. The Guardian is running a live blog for the match, which kicks off at 4:30pm GMT.

United's head coach, Michael Carrick, has a selection problem. Lisandro Martinez was sent off at Stamford Bridge the weekend before, so he is suspended and misses this game. Noussair Mazraoui takes his place in the side. United did have a lift earlier in the week, when they came from behind to beat Roma.

Villa arrive in a different mood from the one they had at the start of the season. They lost three of their first four league games and dropped to 19th in the table. Since that poor start they have won six of their seven matches in all competitions. Their latest run before this trip was a home draw with Fulham, sandwiched between defeats at Bournemouth and at Barcelona.

Their manager, Unai Emery, will be looking for his side to keep that momentum going at a ground where Villa have struggled. United have won 24 of their 31 home league meetings with Villa, drawn five and lost two. Both of those home defeats were 1-0.

In the UK, the match is on Sky Sports Main Event. In the United States, it is on USA Network.

Earlier on Sunday, the women's teams meet too. Aston Villa Women host Manchester United in the Women's Super League, England's top women's division, at Villa Park. That match kicks off at 12pm and is live on Sky Sports Mix. Villa Women arrive on a seven-game unbeaten run, which gives the early kick-off a sharp edge of its own.

For United fans, the week has been about getting results back on track. For Villa, it is about keeping a climb going after a difficult opening. Both clubs know that a win at Old Trafford on a Sunday afternoon will be talked about all week.
