Liverpool won 3-1 away at Crystal Palace on Sunday, with Alexander Isak scoring late in the game. Palace got one back in stoppage time, but it was not enough.

Liverpool took the lead in the 40th minute. Alexis Mac Allister finished after Dominik Szoboszlai set him up, and it was the midfielder's first Premier League goal of the season. Liverpool went in 1-0 up at half-time.

Palace had their chances in that first half. Yeremy Pino, Daniel Munoz and Jean-Philippe Mateta all went close, but Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson saved each effort. BBC's player ratings gave Alisson a 9 and described him as back to his best. Pino was rated a 7 for Palace.

The second half was just as open. Florian Wirtz doubled Liverpool's lead in the 54th minute, after a pass from Bradley Barcola. It was Wirtz's first Premier League goal of the season. Palace were still in the game, and Dean Henderson, their goalkeeper, kept out a powerful drive from Ryan Gravenberch by turning it onto the post.

Liverpool made the win safe in the 89th minute. Wirtz was the creator this time, playing the ball across for Isak to finish. Isak was the club's new signing and this was his first goal for them in the league.

Palace were not finished. Eddie Nketiah won a penalty and scored it in the fifth minute of stoppage time, which made the final score 3-1. Nketiah was a Palace player before this season, and it was his first goal since May.

Pierre Sage is Crystal Palace's manager for the 2026/27 season. Tony Harrington was the referee at Selhurst Park.

The result means Liverpool take a strong away win into the next stage of the season. For Palace, the defeat leaves them with plenty of work to do to build on a good run of recent results.
