HYBE Posts Record Q2 Revenue of KRW 1.45 Trillion as BTS's ARIRANG and World Tour Drive Surge

HYBE posted a record KRW 1.45 trillion (approximately USD $967 million) in Q2 2026 revenue, more than doubling year-on-year and up 107.6% from the previous quarter, according to the company's earnings release published Tuesday, July 28, 2026 Music Business Worldwide. The South Korean entertainment group behind BTS, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM and BOYNEXTDOOR swung from an operating loss in Q1 to KRW 170.9 billion ($114 million) in operating profit — a 159.3% year-on-year increase, with an operating margin of 11.8%.
BTS drove both halves of the business. The group's fifth studio album, ARIRANG, released March 20, 2026, powered recorded music revenue up 43.0% year-on-year to KRW 326.8 billion ($218 million). The BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG', which launched in April after the first quarter had closed, helped lift concert revenue 243.3% year-on-year and 630.0% quarter-on-quarter to KRW 647.7 billion ($432 million) — the single largest revenue line in the quarter.
The turnaround follows a Q1 in which HYBE reported an operating loss of KRW 196.6 billion, driven by a one-time KRW 255 billion stock-based compensation charge. Strip that charge out, and adjusted operating profit still rose 192.4% quarter-on-quarter from KRW 58.5 billion in Q1. Net profit for Q2 came in at KRW 109.8 billion ($73 million), up 610.1% year-on-year.
Artist direct-involvement revenue — recorded music, concerts and advertising combined — rose 132.2% year-on-year to an all-time high of KRW 1.04 trillion ($693 million), meaning the activities of HYBE's own artists accounted for roughly 72% of total revenue.
Beyond BTS, the touring picture was broad. HYBE MUSIC GROUP artists held 119 performances in the first half of 2026, with more than 200 additional shows scheduled for the second half. The company had 279 total performances in the prior year and is on track to significantly exceed that figure in 2026. ENHYPEN launched its world tour in May and expanded into South America for the first time with sold-out stadium shows. LE SSERAFIM and BOYNEXTDOOR each launched new world tours during the first half as well.
The physical album market reflected the same momentum. According to Luminate's 2026 Midyear Report, ARIRANG ranked No. 1 in US vinyl and CD album sales in the first half of 2026. HYBE albums accounted for five of the 10 best-selling CD albums in the United States during that period.
At a national level, South Korea's exports of K-pop albums reached a record $257.48 million in the first half of 2026, up 125% year-on-year, according to Korea Customs Service trade statistics published July 17, 2026. The United States was the largest importer at $74.12 million, followed by China at $61.18 million and Japan at $45.61 million. HYBE stated that the ARIRANG album contributed to South Korea becoming the world's third-largest music exporter, behind only the United States and the United Kingdom.
What stands out in these numbers is the sheer scale of the concert rebound. A 630% quarter-on-quarter jump in concert revenue is not a gradual recovery — it is a touring engine switching on after a quiet first quarter, with BTS's arena and stadium dates doing the heavy lifting while younger acts on the roster fill out the calendar.
For a company that posted an operating loss just one quarter ago, the Q2 swing is substantial. The stock-based compensation charge that weighed on Q1 was non-recurring; the concert and album revenue driving Q2 is not. Whether that pace holds through the second half, when the 200-plus scheduled performances land, will be the question HYBE's next earnings release answers.
