Slash Management Launches Multi-Division Production Studio on Sunset Boulevard

Jake Webb's Slash Management has launched a full-scale production studio spanning film and TV development, podcast production, modelling, and creator-led intellectual property, six months after Webb acquired full control of the Los Angeles-based talent business. Deadline

The studio, called Slash Studios, sits on Sunset Boulevard and is designed as an all-in-one creative campus. Its facilities include digital and traditional media production spaces, podcast and music studios, YouTube creator sets, workspaces, glam rooms, lifestyle sets, and an event space. Deadline

The facility is not brand new. Slash Studios was first launched by April 2021 as a studio geared toward influencers, according to Business Insider. Five years on, the operation has broadened from a creator-focused space into a multi-division production company developing its own original content. Business Insider

That content is already live. Slash Studios has released podcasts and digital series including Cool Conversations with Pressley, hosted by Pressley Hosbach, along with Basically Besties and The Bop Bible with Adam Barrera. The campus has also hosted editorial shoots, brand activations, live events, and release events for Flush Records and Blackbox LA. Deadline

On the film and TV side, at least one indie project is already being packaged at Slash. Packaging, in industry terms, means assembling the key elements a project needs before pitching it to buyers, such as a script, attached talent, and a director. Deadline

Hosbach, a Slash-signed singer and actress with credits including the HBO Max pilot How to Survive Without Me and the Nickelodeon scripted series Erin & Aaron, has been with the company since she was 12 years old. Her involvement in the studio's original content gives a sense of how Slash intends to use its own roster of talent to front the projects it develops. Deadline

That roster is large. Slash Management represents more than 120 clients across its divisions. Deadline

The company has also bulked up its staff. Recent hires and promotions include theatrical manager Kaelyn Lacey, talent manager Mikayla Giroux, and Vice President of Talent Jerry Barajas. Internally, Sam Lao was promoted to talent manager, Gia Sylvester and Kellie Martinez to talent coordinator, Dustin Pindeda was hired as studio and creative assistant, and Brandon Juarez joined as in-house art department lead, photographer, and creative producer. Webb co-founded Slash Management in 2019 with Heinz Holba and Karine Roman. The latest expansion turns what was a talent agency into something closer to a vertically integrated entertainment company, one that represents artists, builds the sets they perform on, produces the shows and podcasts they appear in, and now aims to package film and television projects of its own. Deadline

For the more than 120 clients on Slash's books, the Sunset Boulevard campus now offers a place to record, film, shoot, and perform, all under the same management umbrella. Whether the studio's packaged projects reach screens will depend on the next step every indie project faces: finding a buyer.
