Pipeline Names Spencer LeBoff Head of Revenue as It Enters Music Publishing Financing

Pipeline, the music-industry financing platform backed by more than $200 million in capital, has appointed Spencer LeBoff as Head of Revenue, effective immediately. LeBoff, based in Los Angeles, will lead the company's commercial strategy and manage relationships with record labels, music publishers, distributors, artists, and IP investment funds, according to Music Business Worldwide. He also sits on Pipeline's Investment Committee and oversees business development with banks, financing partners, and industry organisations.
The hire lands at a pivotal moment for Pipeline. The platform has opened its advance products — financing deals that give creators upfront cash against future earnings — to the music publishing community, and completed its first publishing advance the week before the announcement. Pipeline launched publicly in January, backed by Chairman Matt Spetzler's investment firm Jamen Capital.
LeBoff arrives from Avex Music Group, where he served as Senior Vice President, Head of Publishing & Acquisitions. There, he helped establish the Japanese company's catalog acquisition business — the practice of buying the rights to a songwriter's or artist's body of work for a lump sum — developed its credit facility, and built its acquisition pipeline. He also led Avex's first catalog acquisition, buying the catalog of songwriter Marco Rodriguez, known as Infamous, whose credits include Teddy Swims and Lil Wayne.
Before Avex, LeBoff was General Manager of Publishing at beatBread, a music financing startup, where he launched and led its songwriter advance and catalog acquisition division. Earlier in his career, he held A&R roles — positions focused on talent scouting and creative development — at BMG Music Publishing and Warner Bros. Records.
What stands out is how neatly LeBoff's résumé fits Pipeline's current trajectory. He has spent years building the exact machinery Pipeline now needs: catalog acquisition pipelines, credit facilities, and songwriter advance operations. The move into publishing financing expands Pipeline beyond its earlier remit and into a segment where songwriters and publishers increasingly seek alternatives to selling their catalogs outright.
MusicWeek, the UK-based trade publication, also reported the appointment on July 28.
Pipeline operates under the brand name Pipeline Media on its official website at pipeline.media. The company positions itself as serving the wider creative economy, not just the music industry.
