A live capture of Noël Coward's Fallen Angels, starring Rose Byrne and Kelli O'Hara, will play cinemas across the US, UK, Canada, Australia and selected international territories from October 22, Deadline reports.

The release pairs Trafalgar Releasing — the specialist distributor behind event cinema for the stage — with BroadwayHD, the streaming platform co-founded by Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley. Tickets went on sale July 28.

For audiences who missed the sold-out Broadway run, this is the chance to see it intact. The Roundabout Theatre Company's revival, directed by Scott Ellis, began previews at the Todd Haimes Theatre on March 27 and opened April 19. The play, a one-act comedy Coward first premiered in 1925, closed as a sold-out engagement. The live performance was filmed at the Todd Haimes Theatre for this cinematic release.

Byrne and O'Hara lead the cast, and both earned Tony Award nominations for their performances — Byrne as Jane Banbury, a role she originated in this production. The revival collected five Tony nominations in total, including Best Play Revival, with Jeff Mahshie winning for costume design. The cast also features Tracee Chimo, Mark Consuelos in his Broadway debut, Christopher Fitzgerald, and Aasif Mandvi.

The October release follows an earlier digital window: the production was live-streamed on June 5, with on-demand viewing added afterward, Playbill reported. The cinema cut, listed at roughly one hour and fifty minutes, brings the stage production to the big screen for a limited run.

Trafalgar Releasing has built its business on bringing stage productions — plays, musicals, concerts — into cinemas for limited, event-style engagements, a model that lets a Broadway show reach far beyond its single theatre.

Coward wrote Fallen Angels in 1925, when he was in his mid-twenties. The comedy centres on two society women awaiting the return of a former lover, and has been revived on stage multiple times across the century. The 2026 production marked its latest return to Broadway.

For fans of Byrne — known widely for film roles in Bridesmaids and Neighbors — the cinema capture offers a rare look at her stage work. O'Hara is a Broadway veteran with multiple Tony nominations to her name. Seeing both share a frame, in a Coward comedy no less, is the kind of pairing the event-cinema format exists to preserve.
