Starz and Crunchyroll Team Up for $16.99 Monthly Bundle on Prime Video

Starz and Crunchyroll have launched a joint streaming bundle through Prime Video in the United States, priced at $16.99 per month — a discount of more than 23% compared with subscribing to each service on its own. The bundle became available to eligible customers on July 29, 2026. Variety

For viewers, the appeal is straightforward: one payment, two libraries. Starz brings its roster of original scripted series and films, while Crunchyroll offers its catalogue of anime — Japanese animation that has built a large and growing audience outside its home market. The bundle is sold as an add-on through Amazon's Prime Video Channels platform, meaning subscribers manage it inside the same interface they already use for Prime Video.

This is Crunchyroll's first bundle deal in the U.S. market. The Sony-owned anime specialist has sold its service standalone and through other distribution agreements, but had not previously been packaged with another premium streaming brand at a combined discount. Starz, by contrast, has pursued bundling as part of its distribution strategy for some time.

Alison Hoffman, president of Starz Networks, and Terry Li, Crunchyroll's chief product officer and EVP of emerging business, are the executives named in connection with the deal. Variety

The timing lines up with a programming push from Starz. "Fightland," described as Starz's first wholly owned original series, is set to premiere on July 31, 2026 — two days after the bundle launch. A new series arriving alongside a discounted bundle gives Starz a fresh title to draw subscribers into the combined offering.

For fans of either platform, the maths is simple. Buying Starz and Crunchyroll separately costs more than $16.99 per month combined at their standard rates. The bundle cuts that total by roughly a quarter. Whether the pairing of prestige drama and anime finds a shared audience is a question the subscription numbers will answer in the coming months.
