Jared Leto has denied allegations of criminal sexual conduct made by ten women in a new BBC documentary, calling the claims "absolutely and categorically false."

The one-hour documentary, titled Jared Leto: Hollywood's Darkest Secret, features ten women who came forward with allegations against the 54-year-old actor and musician. According to Variety, all of the women say their interactions with Leto occurred between 2002 and 2016.

Four of the women allege that the offences took place when they were teenagers. One woman accuses Leto of assaulting her in a motel bathroom when she was 17. Another says Leto threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19. A third describes having sex with Leto in California at age 17, which would meet the legal definition of statutory rape given that she was below the age of consent. A fourth alleges that Leto made repeated sexually explicit phone calls to her when she was 16 and suggested they should have sex.

Leto's response was issued through his representatives to Variety. In a statement, he said: "I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false" Variety.

The BBC said it corroborated a number of the women's accounts by speaking with friends and family who had been told about the encounters with Leto at the time. The broadcaster also said it has seen pictures and messages that support the women's accounts Variety.

The documentary is not the first time Leto has faced public allegations. DJ Allie Teilz accused him of sexual misconduct on social media in 2025, saying he assaulted her when she was 17. An Air Mail investigation published in June 2025 also included allegations against Leto, which he denied at the time Variety.

Leto, an Academy Award winner for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, is the frontman of the band Thirty Seconds to Mars and has appeared in films including Suicide Squad, Blade Runner 2049, and House of Gucci. His career has spanned more than three decades in both music and film.

The BBC documentary brings the allegations to a wider audience through a major broadcaster's investigative platform. No criminal charges have been filed in connection with the claims in the documentary.
