The Daily Show Turns 30: Comedy Central Launches Limited Podcast With the News Team

Comedy Central is marking 30 years of The Daily Show with a three-episode limited podcast series titled 30 F#@king Years: The Daily Show Remembers, according to Variety.

The podcast is hosted by the show's News Team: Jordan Klepper, Desi Lydic, Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, Josh Johnson, Grace Kuhlenschmidt, and Troy Iwata. It joins an audio lineup that has already proven durable — The Daily Show: Ears Edition, the show's existing podcast, has generated 767 million lifetime listens, Variety reports.

Jon Stewart, who returned to the hosting desk in 2024 on a Mondays-only schedule, hosts a separate podcast called The Weekly Show. His Monday episodes have made The Daily Show the No. 1 late-night programme in the adults 18-49 demographic — the age bracket advertisers care about most. In the first quarter of 2026, the show posted its best 18-49 ratings in more than eight years, per Variety.

The anniversary has also produced a 17-minute retrospective video featuring clips from the Craig Kilborn and Trevor Noah eras, alongside Stewart's original and current runs. Kilborn hosted when the show launched in 1996; Noah took over from Stewart in 2015 and departed in 2022.

The show enters its fourth decade with awards momentum. The Daily Show is nominated for seven Emmys in 2026, including outstanding variety series. The Emmy ceremony has not yet taken place.

For context on the show's current on-air roster, Comedy Central's website listed host Josh Johnson interviewing rapper, writer, and director RZA in an episode dated April 30, 2026 (Comedy Central).

Thirty years is a long run for any television format, let alone one built on the news cycle. What the anniversary landing alongside strong ratings and seven Emmy nominations suggests is that The Daily Show is not coasting on nostalgia — it is pulling viewers in the demographic that matters most to advertisers, expanding into audio, and keeping a rotating bench of correspondents in front of the camera. The limited podcast gives the News Team a slot of their own, separate from Stewart's Monday perch, and adds another entry in an audio catalogue that has already crossed three-quarters of a billion listens.
