Disney+ has ordered House of Fates, a spinoff of the Korean competition series Battle of Fates, with the original show's producer and writer back at the helm (Variety).

The new series sends three of the top-placing "fate readers" from Battle of Fates on a journey across Korea, visiting sites tied to Korean spiritual practice. Other contestants from the original cast will join them at points along the way. The format features ceremonies, regional customs, communal meals, personal fate readings and shamanic ritual, all shot on location in Korea (Variety).

Battle of Fates is a competition series in which practitioners of shamanism, tarot, face and foot reading, saju (Korean fortune-telling based on birth date and time) and other divination disciplines face off. Its first season ran 10 episodes and premiered on 11 February. Within its first 12 days, it became the No. 1 series premiere on Disney+ Korea based on views, according to Variety.

House of Fates is the first spinoff Disney+ has greenlit since Battle of Fates premiered. All 10 episodes of the original season are available to stream on the platform.

The franchise is also expanding beyond Korea. Local adaptations of Battle of Fates are in development in other markets, though the specific territories have not been disclosed (Variety).

Disney+ has not yet revealed a release date for House of Fates.
