UK producer Jack Latham, who records as Jam City, will release his new album 'My World' on September 23. The album is his first for Mad Decent, the Los Angeles-based label founded by Diplo that has released music across dancehall, baile funk and electronic pop. Latham announced the record through his own Instagram account before the news was picked up by music press. In a statement, he described the creative process: 'I just went deeper and deeper into my own world on this album, and ended up with the most me thing I've ever made.' Pitchfork

The album runs to nine tracks and leans heavily on collaborations. The title track features Aidan, Bawo and Ox Eye, while other songs bring in Hannah Yadi, Solv, Luna Avelar and Gianna across cuts titled 'Hung Up', 'Pure Vice', 'Lucky', 'Little Vice', 'Trippin', '2AM', 'Venice Loop' and 'Cash Fast Interlude'. Listeners can already hear portions of it. The 'My World' title track arrived as a single on July 23, backed with a 10-minute dub mix — an extended, stripped-back remix in the Jamaican tradition of reworking a vocal track's instrumental elements — now available on Jam City's Bandcamp page. For followers of Latham's work, the Mad Decent signing places him on a label better known for club-ready, globally minded dance music than for the intricate UK production style he has built his name on since the early 2010s. Whether that pairing signals a deliberate shift in approach or simply a new home for the same methods is something the full album will clarify when it arrives.
