Gary Oldman, Lee Chang-dong and Mattel Studios president Robbie Brenner have joined the speaker roster for the TIFF Market's Visionaries and Dialogues talks programme, adding serious star power to the industry conference that runs alongside the Toronto International Film Festival this September.

The TIFF Industry Conference, presented by Christie Digital, runs September 5–9 and is built around six programming pillars — two of them being Visionaries, a strand for in-depth career conversations, and Dialogues, focused on craft and production. The wider TIFF Market summit spans seven days.

Oldman arrives at TIFF for the premiere of the sixth season of Slow Horses in the festival's Primetime section, which showcases television. He will also sit for a Visionaries talk. Deadline

Brenner, the Mattel Studios president and a producer of Barbie, comes to the festival as producer of The Housewife, starring Naomi Watts and Tye Sheridan, which will have its world premiere as a Special Presentation. She joins the Visionaries sidebar.

Lee Chang-dong, the South Korean director whose credits include Burning and Poetry, will give an in-depth Visionaries talk. He is also attending TIFF for the North American premiere of his film Possible Love and to receive the Ebert Director Tribute Award, part of the festival's Tribute Awards — the first honourees of which were announced on July 29, 2026.

Director Curry Barker, whose film Obsession debuted in TIFF's Midnight Madness sidebar before going on to box-office success for Focus Features, will discuss the making and release of the film in the Dialogues strand. He will be joined by the film's star, Inde Navarrette.

Killer Films co-founders Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler — whose producing credits span decades of American independent cinema — will speak in the Dialogues strand about the role of a producer.

Previously announced speakers include Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group co-chairs and CEOs Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca, who are set for the Visionaries programme.

Geoff Macnaughton, VP of Market Programming & Theatrical at TIFF: The Market, oversees the conference lineup. The event sits at the intersection of the festival's public screenings and the business conversations that shape what reaches screens in the months and years ahead.

For a festival already building momentum toward its 51st edition — with Siân Heder's Being Heumann set as Opening Night Film and a Platform jury whose winner now earns a direct path to Oscar consideration — the conference speaker list signals that Toronto's market side is drawing talent at every level: studio chiefs, art-house legends, breakout directors and the producers who connect them all.
