Sterling Point: Amazon's Lake Muskoka Coming-of-Age Drama Drops All 8 Episodes on August 5
A 17-year-old New Yorker inherits a property on Ontario's Lake Muskoka from a grandfather she never knew, and the whole story lands at once. Sterling Point, a young-adult drama series from creator Megan Park, premieres Wednesday, August 5 on Amazon Prime Video — with all eight episodes released simultaneously, according to Deadline.
Ella Rubin leads the cast as Annie, an ambitious teenager whose mother died when she was a baby. When her estranged maternal grandfather dies and leaves her the Lake Muskoka property, Annie travels to the lakeside community of Sterling Point to learn about the family she never knew, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The ensemble around her is large. Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie plays Ellis and Daniel Quinn-Toye plays Rory — two young men Annie is caught between — while Amélie Hoeferle plays Ramona, a mysterious stranger with whom Annie develops a relationship. The cast also includes Bo Bragason, Keen Ruffalo, Mabel Strachan, Jay Duplass, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Missi Pyle (The Hollywood Reporter).
Amazon describes the show as a coming-of-age drama, and the creative team behind it carries serious television pedigree. Park, best known for writing and directing the 2024 film My Old Ass, created the series and serves as executive producer alongside Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage — the duo behind Gossip Girl and The O.C. The production company is LuckyChap, the banner behind Barbie and Maid, according to Variety.
Prime Video gave Sterling Point a straight-to-series order in January 2025 — meaning no pilot was shot first; the full season was greenlit outright. Variety broke the news of the project's existence at that time (Variety; Deadline). On July 9, 2026, Prime Video unveiled the first trailer and new photos for the series (Amazon MGM Studios press release).
For viewers, the all-at-once release means the full story will be available to binge from day one. Whether Annie unravels the mystery of her grandfather's life and her mother's absence in those eight episodes is something audiences will find out tomorrow.
