Christina Applegate is back home after spending nearly four months in a Los Angeles hospital, according to an announcement on her official Instagram account.

A source told Variety that "all is well" with the 54-year-old actress, who has been living with multiple sclerosis since she was diagnosed in August 2021. Page Six, citing TMZ, reported on 3 August 2026 that Applegate had been discharged and was recovering at home, with an insider telling the outlet she is "doing well" (Page Six). News of Applegate's hospitalisation first broke in late March 2026, when TMZ reported she had been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital, with the exact reason for her stay unclear (TMZ). The hospitalisation came just weeks after the publication of her memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, Variety reported.

During the months that followed, reports from the Daily Mail and Page Six described those close to Applegate as preparing for the worst, with the Daily Mail quoting friends who revealed "hellish" details and said she "might not have a tomorrow" (Daily Mail, 17 April 2026; Page Six, 18 April 2026).
