On July 26, both monarchs visited a sports center in Villamanta, near Madrid, to meet people displaced by wildfires. And at some point in their summer schedule, the full family of four received the Spanish national football team in audience, per the Casa Real website.

What gives this year's Marivent reception its quiet weight is the growing visibility of the two princesses. Leonor, who turned 20 in October 2025, is undergoing military training as she prepares for her future role as queen. Sofía, 18, finished her secondary studies this past spring. Their second consecutive appearance at the Balearic reception places them beside their parents and grandmother at an event that brings the monarchy face to face with the people of Mallorca — a small, deliberate step into the public role Leonor will one day inherit.
