'Jaded' is the first new duet from the pair since 'That's Why We Fight', a track that became the lead single from Langley's 2023 'Excuse the Mess' EP and later earned Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America — the trade body that awards Gold status when a single or album reaches 500,000 units in the United States. The new song was written by Wetzel, Langley, Jordan Schmidt, and ERNEST, all four names with substantial writing credits across contemporary country.

The collaboration carries some history. Langley has said Wetzel was one of the first artists she worked with and one of the first she toured with, back in 2022. Their previous duet's RIAA Gold status placed it among the streaming-era country pairings that crossed into certified sales territory.

Both artists arrive at 'Jaded' in the middle of busy touring schedules. Wetzel is headlining The Night Champion World tour, with dates across the U.S., Canada, and Australia. Langley is leading her own arena-headlining run, The Dandelion Tour.

Each brings a strong recent chart résumé. Langley's duet with Morgan Wallen, 'I Can't Love You Anymore', has been a dominant presence on the charts, and she has solo hits including 'Choosin' Texas'. Wetzel earned a No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart in 2024 with 'High Road', a duet with Jessie Murph, and partnered with Corey Kent on 'Rocky Mountain Low', which reached the top 5 on the same chart.
